The short version: candidates never give us their details to use this site: you apply straight to the employer, so we never hold your CV. Recruiters give us their business contact details and their advert so we can check it, publish it and invoice for it. I never sell anyone's data.
Who I am
SEE Recruitment is a trading name of Saving Energy Consultants Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 14048747; registered office: Office 135 Boston House, Grove Business Park, Downsview Road, Wantage OX12 9FF). It is run by Darren Emery. Contact: darren@savingenergy.com. A postal address for legal notices is available on request — just email me.
The company is the data controller for the personal information described here.
What I collect
If you're looking for work: nothing, to use the site. You don't need an account, and when you apply you go straight to the employer or recruiter. They are responsible for your application, under their own privacy notice.
If you email me: your email address and what you send. Please don't send a CV. If one arrives unasked, I delete it.
If you post a role: your name, business email and phone number, your company's name and details, the advert, and the invoice and payment records.
When you visit: my web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security. I don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why, and the lawful basis
- To reply to your email — legitimate interests.
- To check, publish and invoice your advert — contract (or taking steps at your request before one).
- To keep company and tax records — legal obligation.
- To keep the site secure — legitimate interests.
Who sees it
Me. Your information is stored with my web and email host (Krystal Hosting, UK) and my email provider. A live advert is public, because that's the point of it: it shows what you send for publication, including the contact details you choose for applications. I don't sell, share or pass your details to anyone else. I may use AI software to help me check an advert; the decision is mine.
How long I keep it
Emails: as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and no longer than 12 months after we were last in touch. Unsolicited CVs: deleted when they arrive. Adverts: taken down when they expire or are filled. Invoices and payment records: as long as the law requires for company accounts.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how I use it. Email me and I'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information
Tell me and I'll put it right if I can. Email darren@savingenergy.com with "Data complaint" in the subject line, or email to ask for a postal address if you'd rather write. I'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it, keep you updated and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
